Why should I have a EV chargepoint installed?
It is possible to charge an EV from a standard household 3-pin plug, however this isn't recommended - theres often a clause in most car manuals that these devices (commonly called granny cables) should only be used for emergencies.
Speed of Charge
Most 'Granny Cables' charge at 6-10A which means that it would take on average 20 hours to charge an electric car! While most dedicated domestic EV charge points will charge at 32A and will typically charge most EVs within 8 hours.
